THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF THE ADSORPTION-BASED VESSEL FOR HYDROGENOUS GAS STORAGE
Thermal management is the design bottleneck in creation of rational gas storage sorption systems. Inefficient heat transfer in a sorption bed is connected with a relatively low thermal conductivity (0.1–0.5 W/(m·K)) and an appreciable sorption heat of activated gas storage materials. This work is devoted to the development and research of a thermally regulated onboard system of hydrogenous gas (methane and hydrogen) storage with the use of novel carbon sorbents. The hydrogenous gas storage system based on combined gas adsorption and compression at moderate pressures (3–6 MPa) and low temperatures (from the temperature of liquid nitrogen about 77 K to a temperature of 273 K) is suggested.
