ON THE PROBLEM OF INSTABILITY OF THE BOUNDARY 
OF TWO MEDIA OF FINITE THICKNESS

A dispersion determinant nonlinear as far as the combination 
of frequency and relative velocity is concerned has been derived in 
the problem on propagation of waves at the boundary of liquid layers 
of finite thickness. The structure and physical meaning of the equation 
obtained have been discussed. The limiting cases have been considered.
