POROUS ELEMENTS IN PLASMA GENERATORS WITH A LIQUID ELECTROLYTIC CATHODE
Kh. K. Tazmeev and B. Kh. Tazmeev UDC 537.523.9 Variants of basic diagrams and energy characteristics of generators of an atmospheric-pressure nonequilibrium gas-discharge plasma the working surfaces of whose cathode units are manufactured from a porous nonmetallic material have been given. Tap water and aqueous solutions of different salts and alkalis have been employed as the electrolytes. It has been shown that the use of porous elements in the cathode unit substantially extends the possibilities of structural design of plasma generators with liquid electrodes, contributes to a significant increase in the discharge gap (to 200 mm), and makes it possible to increase the fraction of heat going to heat up the plasma in the positive column in the heat balance of the discharge.
