INTERPHASE ENERGY AT A THIN METAL
THREAD-DIELECTRIC MEDIUM INTERFACE

Within the framework of the method of electron-density 
functionals, the influence of the dielectric medium on the interphase 
energy of alkaline-metal threads has been studied. It is shown that 
the interphase energy increases with decrease in the thread radius.
