ON CONVECTIVE INSTABILITY OF AIR
IN THE SNOW COVER

This paper considers the system of equations describing 
the convective instability of air in the snow cover. We analyze the 
conditions under which the principle of "monotony" of normal perturbations 
is fulfilled and estimate the critical parameters of the main level 
of air equilibrium instability with allowance for the heat and mass 
exchange between the snow surface and the environment.
