It is found that in polytropic processes of change 
of states of real gases and liquids the polytropic index is the ratio 
of the polytropic elasticity modulus and the hydrodynamic pressure. 
Formulas for determination of the polytropic elasticity modulus at 
constant polytropic efficiency as a function of the adiabatic index 
and the Gruneisen parameter are obtained.
