ON THE EFFECTS OF SPATIAL INHOMOGENEITIES OF BUOYANCY ON THE DYNAMICS OF A ROTATING MEDIUM
There are indications that spatially inhomogeneous buoyancy forces can play a signifi cant role in the dynamics of intense tornado-type atmospheric vortices. The paper considers a linearized model of disturbances caused by buoyancy deviations (in particular, inhomogeneously distributed heavy impurity) in an intense vortex with a vertical axis. Analytical relations allowing assessment of the amplitude of perturbations of velocity and pressure have been obtained.
